When and Where We Meet

The club meets on the first and third Mondays of every month (except as noted below) at 8pm at:

Room 3
The Community Centre (Allum Hall)
Allum Lane
Elstree
Hertfordshire WD6 3PJ

Great Britain (!)

We do not meet on bank holidays. We take a break during July and August, and in the last two weeks of December.

How to Find Us

The red circle on this map (courtesy of multimap.com) shows the location of the community centre.

By Rail

The nearest station is Elstree and Borehamwood, which is served by First Capital Connect from London, St Albans, Luton and Bedford. On leaving the station, turn left to the mini-roundabout and take the left exit from this over the railway bridge. Cross over the road. The community centre is on your right, immediately after the bridge.

By Bus

London services 107 (from Edgware and Barnet) and 292 (from Edgware and Colindale) both stop at Elstree and Borehamwood station. Most of the local services also stop there. Follow the directions given in the "By Rail" section, above.

By Road

From the North or from Central London

The simplest route is via the A1. Take the exit for Borehamwood. The road loops over the A1, and you pass a golf driving range. Follow the signposts for Borehamwood, and you will go past a number of office blocks. This road is Elstree Way.

Continue over a double roundabout. Continue over two more roundabouts; the road becomes Shenley Road at this point. Go straight on over three mini-roundabouts. The last mini-roundabout is just before a bridge. Go over this. The entrance to the Community Centre is on the right, just in front of another mini-roundabout, and opposite a Total garage. The distance from the A1 to the Community Centre is about 1.25 miles.

From Watford

Take either the A41 or A411 towards Elstree. Where the roads join, take the A411 towards Elstree. Turn left onto Elstree High Street. Go through Elstree and down the hill, and turn right into Allum Lane.

Continue along Allum Lane past four roads on the left. The entrance to the Community Centre is on the left, just past a mini-roundabout, and opposite a Total garage.

Membership fees

Your first visit to the club is free. After that, you can visit up to three times for £1 each visit. (These visits don't have to be consecutive.) That way, you can get an idea of whether it's for you without having to pay too much up front.

If you want to join the club, a subscription costs £20 per year, payable in January. If you join partway through the year, your subscription costs £2 for each month or part of a month that's left on the programme. (We meet for 10 months of the year, and £20 divided by 10 is £2.)

E-mail address

If you have any questions or comments about the club or these web pages, you can e-mail the webmaster, Steve Pemberton, at: bcc at borehamwoodcamcorderclub dot org dot uk.

Before emailing, please read the FAQ section to see if your question is answered there. Please don't send email to the old club address, bcc@pembers.clara.net. This was attracting so much spam that I made it auto-forward to uce@ftc.gov, which is where the US Federal Trade Commission wants you to send all your spam. Presumably, if they get enough complaints about a spammer, they might ask him not to do it again...
